VANGUARD

The Vanguard is a powerful combatant, able to combine the offensive powers of the Adept and the Soldier. They have access to various weapons and armor, as well as biotics. Vanguards are the front line of the squad. Their biotic powers focus on combat potential - disabling the enemy, making their armor ineffective, and shielding themselves from harm so that they can get close enough to go to work. The Vanguard wears light armor to start, though they can upgrade to medium armor, and they may gain specialist training in shotguns and pistols. Vanguards are feared for their high-risk high-reward combat style, closing quickly on enemies and destroying them at close range with weapons and biotic abilities. They are outfitted with L5n implants, enabling them to perform a biotic charge that strikes the opponent with incredible force while bringing the Vanguard in close for close-range combat.


VANGUARD CLASS TALENTS

Biotic Charge is Vanguard's signature power and can only be learned and improved by Vanguard's class talent points. Vanguard can use either class talent or biotic talent points to learn and improve Nova and Biotic Barrier talents. In which order Vanguard learns its class talents is up to the player.

VANGUARD CLASS EVOLUTION

At level 10, 20, 30, Vanguard can select one of the 3 evolution perks. In which order Vanguard is going to select them is up to the player, but can select only one at the time. You can have 1 evolution perk at level 10, 2 evolution perks at level 20, and 3 evolution perks at level 30. Vanguard's training with biotic and combat abilities pushes him/her far beyond biotic capabilities than other classes could achieve.

PROVOKING BIOTIC CHARGE
When Vanguard uses biotic charge, all targets within 5 squares of biotic charge's impact are taunted to attack the vanguard for 3 rounds. The Vanguard may chose to not apply provoking biotic charge, the player must specify when performing action.

SAFEGUARD BIOTIC CHARGE
Safeguard Biotic Charge is a reactionary biotic talent that allows Vanguard to biotic charge outside of his/her own turn when an ally is under attack. This positions the vanguard in front of the ally to take hit in the ally's place. Safeguard Biotic Charge operates independently of biotic charge's cooldown, but is limited to the number of uses per round that equals the rank of biotic charge. Safeguard Biotic Charge does not restore barriers, but it does apply all other effects granted by Biotic Charge.

NIMBLE BIOTIC CHARGE
Biotic Charge talent transforms from standard action to move action, thus allowing Biotic Charge to be used along side of other standard actions in the same turn.
